United States of Europe

You've heard of the United States. It’s a country in North America. It was started in the 1700s and is a united nation. Europe, on the other hand, is many centuries old. What if there was a United States of Europe? Would this be a smart idea?

Europe is a continent full of many countries with a wide range of people. You have Germany, a country known for its beer and sausage. Then theirs England, the polite people with a background of royalty. You also have France too, with the great Eiffel Tower. What would happen if this was all squeezed into one country? This could lead into economic crisis, or economic skyrocketing.

If the United States of Europe, or USE, were to happen, the military in this country would be very strong. Every country in Europe has very strong military tactics. The Russians are good with weapons and nuclear missiles, along with Germany. The population of USE would be much greater than most countries, about 740,000,000 people. This could affect the military in a strong way, but also may create great problems. The countries in Europe have similar and different battle strategies.  Germany may call for attack, while Norway may announce for a stay put. This could lead to many arguments, and possibly a civil war.

All this military stuff is important, but what about the different cultures amongst Europe? Europe is made of many different cultures and languages. The people in Europe have different beliefs on how society should work. The people of England speak fluent English. Germany is full of German speaking people. To top that the Italian's speak Italian. What would be the official language. What would be written on the road signs or the billboards? What would be spoken on TV? This could cause many arguments. There is a bonus to this decision though. If everyone spoke the same language, traveling amongst USE would be a breeze. No learning twenty different languages.

What about laws and government? The countries in Europe is different types of currency in their money.
This could lead to a big decision.  People would have to get new money, making their old money pointless. This leads to increase in taxes. A good outcome on this would be for travelers through Europe wouldn’t have to stop at an ATM every time they go to a new country. This would cause less stress for the tourists.

Overall, making Europe into one would be a terrible idea. Military, Economy, and laws would be a mess. The outcome could affect Europe in many ways.
