Hunger Games, Conflict/Resolution

Authors Note:  This is a short summary of the conflict/resolution that took place in the Hunger Games.

Katniss waits impatiently in the town gathering. The capitol has come, like any other year in district 12, to pick the tribute for the live broadcasted show called the Hunger Games. A cake faced lady from the Capitol digs her hand in a bowl full of names. "Primrose Everdeen!" Katniss doesn't have to go, but she is not revealed. It is her sister, Primrose, who has been picked to fight in the live broadcasted show, known as the Hunger Games, against 23 other tributes hungry to win the games this year. Prim screams in hoarer as she is taken away by the Capitol guards. Katniss has only one choice, and that is to volunteer. This is her greatest conflict yet.

In her journey through the Hunger Games, Katniss is found to have no hope in winning. She is from district 12, the poorest of them all. She must fight her way through victory. Her strategy is to hide and not fight, which may work. When it all comes down to the last six survivors, a rule is made. Two tributes may be crowned winners, but they must be from the same district. She immediately tries to find Peeta, the boy tribute from Katniss's district. She eventually finds him hiding in the moist rocks by a stream.

Through bloody fights, Katniss and Peeta finally fight their way through victory, becoming the last two survivors. There is another announcement made. Only one victor may be crowned. Peeta and  Katniss are confused, yet furious with this new announcement. Why would they give the capitol another winner? Katniss and Peeta both grab poisonous berries and place them in each other’s hands. Before they can put the berries in their mouths, there is a last announcement. Katniss's wish is finally resolved. There may be two winners this year.
