Point of Veiw

Author's Note: In The Hunger Games, Katniss is the point of view in which the story is told. The book could possibl be told in many perspectives, in which i give examples of scenes in which it is possible.

In the story, The Hunger Games, Katniss is volunteered to fight in the Hunger Games. She is a 16 year old girl who lives in a cruel government. One Capitol controls 12 outlined districts. Katniss lives in district 12, the coal mining district. She and another male tribute have been chosen to fight to the death in the live broadcasted show called the Hunger Games. The book is told through Katniss's point of view, which allows us to know things that others do not.

While Katniss is on her train leading to the capitol, she is fascinated by the technology of the people of the Capitol. For Katniss, she has never experienced the luxury of taking a real shower. As she sits down to eat dinner, she is amazed by the different foods she is presented. She has never experienced such wonders. For the people of the Capitol, her normal meals are never imagined. They are spoiled people and Katniss knows it.

As her train enters the Capitol city, she gets a glimpse out the window. Her eyes are wowed by the people and buildings. Once her train comes to a halt, she sees hundreds of people cheering at her with joy. To her they look like madmen. People are wearing colors that would never be imaginable for Katniss's wardrobe. She spots a dog with pink hair,  young boy with bright yellow, even a man with a purple afro. What are with these people?

While she is fighting in the arena with an a young ally, her mind is running wild. "Prime!" she yells as she tries to follow the screams. She notices Prime in a net. Searing the net open, a figure is spotted. Katniss shoots an arrow right into his heart. It is too late though, Prime was struck by him. Katniss is balling her head off. A young 12 year old girl has just been murdered. Back in the capitol the people are cheering, one less victor remaining. How could they think like this? Katniss has viewed this in a more natural way.

As Katniss rides home from victory, she has a thought. "What are these people doing to our nation?" Her mind is rolling. Only do the outlined districts see what Katniss does. It is up to her to change their view.
